Top 5 Products For Flawless Makeup!

Top 5 Products For Flawless Makeup!

Lets be honest-nobody likes patchy and unblended makeup. Flawless makeup is something we all yearn for and not to blow my own horn, but I often get compliments on how flawless my makeup is looking so I thought today i would share with you all my top 5 beauty products that have helped me up my makeup game to a whole new level and of course, make it look FLAWLESS!

Lets get one thing straight- Your makeup is only going to look as good as what’s underneath it. Skin care is key to flawless makeup. For me, the product that makes the biggest difference is an exfoliator. I like to exfoliate 3-4 times a week to get rid of any texture or build up dirt on my skin. By exfoliating, your foundation/concealer is less likely to look cake-y and cling to dry patches and more likely to go on smoothly and give you that blended/flawless look.

St. Ives Scrubs

Beauty Blender

Do not underestimate the power of this simple looking sponge because it can literally do wonders for your makeup. I opt for the real technique sponge instead of the original beauty blender because 1) I feel like they both do the same thing and 2) the real techniques one is less than half the price of the beauty blender. The way this works is that it soaks in any excess product whether it be foundation or concealer in order to prevent that cake-y/fine lines situation. Also, brushes sometimes tend to leave these stroke marks but with a beauty blender you can get a smooth finish to your foundation. What’s amazing is that you can use this sponge for powders as well- I actually use it to bake/set my under eye area and it really helps to keep those creases and powder-y ness at bay.

Mac Prep + Prime Fix+

It took me long enough to try this product but I can say that it is definitely worth the hype! Just like the beauty blender, this lightweight water mist can be used in a variety of different ways. As I have dry skin, I like to use this before applying my makeup to hydrate my skin and it really helps prevent my foundation from looking too dry or cake-y. If you feel like your highlighter looks too unblended or harsh, you can simply spray some of this on to your beauty blender and pat that on top of where you have applied your highlighter, and it gives you the most beautiful/blended/dewy glow. Lastly, I sometimes spray this all over my face after being done with my makeup to make sure my makeup is looking smooth and blended.

Real Techniques Detailer Brush

I got this brush in the Real Techniques Base Brush Set and it is hard to believe that a teeny tiny brush like this one can be of so much use while doing makeup. This brush is perfect for fixing up any makeup mistakes or when you need to be super precise. I love usingΒ  this to fix any mistakes while doing my winged liner and if you are looking to go for that super sharp winged liner look then this is your best friend. I also love using it to carve out or clean up my brows with concealer. Lastly, this is perfect for fixing up any lipstick mistakes especially when going for super dark or bright lip shades!

Translucent Setting Powder

Last but definitely not the least is a setting powder- and I am talking specifically about the RCMA no colour powder. The reason why I prefer this over others is that because it is super lightweight and does not have any pigment, it does not feel heavy/cake-y on the skin and does not alter the colour of the foundation. I use this specifically in the t-zone and cheek area and it literally blurs my fine lines and pores to give me a super smooth and flawless finish to my makeup. I highly recommend this powder as it is cheap and you get so much quantity (3 oz.).

  14. I love my blender! I don’t know how I went so long without using one! I have an issue with exfoliating though, I like the way it makes my skin look afterwards but I have a devil of a time finding one that’s not to harsh and scratchy feeling.

    1. Oh maybe try a more milder one or one that is specifically for sensitive skin?
I always moisturize my skin really well after exfoliating!

  15. Great post, I love the Real Techniques sponge it’s my go to, I honestly wouldn’t use anything else even if I have to apply my foundation with a brush I always go over with the sponge last to get rid of an streaks.

  16. Exfoliation is the most important for me. It leaves my skin smooth and prevents acne. Beauty blender is my favorite but now I need to try the real techniques one to save some money. I have RCMA no color powder in my shopping list will get it in July. And I always have my MAC fix plus is always a there with me since I tried. Your makeup is looking perfect Huda. πŸ™‚

  17. Ooh, where can I buy the RCMA powder? I need something to keep my make up fresh as it always goes a bit oily throughout the afternoon! πŸ™ˆI love sheet masks, and Lush’s Ocean Salt moisturiser! X

    1. I actually got it through this website that I believe is only in UAE but I’m sure you can get it from there website!
Ooo the ocean sal moisturizer sounds AMAZING! xx

  18. Totally agree! Using a face scrub makes your foundation apply so much nicer and I can’t apply foundation with a brush because of the brush strokes! I still need to invest in a decent setting powder! Great poster and amazing pictures xx
