5 Goals I Want To Achieve!

5 Goals I Want To Achieve!

Goals are something we all have, whether they are short term or long term. Goals are what motivates us to wake up every day and work harder. They give us hope for a better and fulfilling future. Today, i wanted to share with you all 5 goals i want to achieve. Some, i am already working on while others i hope to achieve in the near future! I personally love reading other people’s goals. It inspires me and makes me reflect on my own goals. Hopefully, this post can do the same for you!

Goals I Want To achieve

LEARN ABOUT MYSELF

One of the most important goals that i want to achieve is learning about myself. I feel like so many of us go through life without ever taking the timely to truly know ourselves. We find ourselves in jobs we hate, in friendships that drain us and activities that only satisfy us externally. I want to get to know myself on a deeper level. My life really lacks true and genuine connections/relationships so i am hoping that by getting to know myself, i can attract the right kind of people in my life. I love reading articles and books on self discovery. One of the articles i found i helpful was this oneย by Mel Selig. I would also recommend taking thisย Myers Briggs Personality Test. There are a lot of mixed reviews on it but i actually found it quite useful. I am an INFJ-T (advocate personality) which i can totally relate to. If you have already taken this test or will take it, leave your results in the comments below. I am quite curious to see what personality type you guys are!

TRAVEL

This is something i do not do much of and really want to make more effort to do so! I guess it is partially due to my lack of independence, financial reasons and yes desi parents *eyerolls*! Travelling is said to have so many benefits for us but i would say for me, the biggest reason is because i want to increase my perspective. I have always been so fascinated by the idea of how there are so many different people in this world leading so many different lives. We get so caught up in our own lives and our own routines that we forget there is an entire world out there just waiting to be explored. The amount of knowledge, ideas and skills we could learn by travelling is just so fascinating to me. Even if it is something as simple as visiting another town or city, i want to accomplish this goal of travelling more!

Goals I Want To achieve

LEAVING MY COMFORT ZONE

One of the goals i want to achieve is to be more willing to take risks and force myself out of my comfort zone. “Comfort-the enemy of progress”- P.T. BARNUM. When i first read this quote, i had sudden realization that i am so willing to stay in my comfort zone. It is so hard for me to leave it because my comfort zone feels safe, familiar and certain. How am i meant to achieve my goals, grow my mind and experience new things if i stay in the same place. I have noticed that whenever i have an opportunity to do something new, my brain always comes up with so many reasons on why i should not do it. Why? Because it is out of my comfort zone. This is definitely the hardest one but i am working on it. I know in the long run, this is going to lead me to some amazing places!

GO TO A BEAUTY SCHOOL

I have been passionate about makeup for as long as i can remember. I never really thought about turning this passion in to a career until recently. Perhaps because i always viewed it as a hobby or perhaps because i was afraid of what people would think of meย  pursuing a career in beauty. Being able to learn how to do makeup easily through Youtube and social media has really helped me enhance my skills. That being i said, i believe knowing how to do your makeup is completely different from doing other people’s makeup. Going to a beauty school would really help me to learn how to do makeup on different face shapes and skin types along with so many other things. I am super excited to achieve this goal and for once, go to school to learn about something i am actually passionate about.

“Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body”- Joseph Addison. Reading more is that typical goal that most us of seem to have. Let’s be honest, finding time to read in this digital and busy world of ours can be quite the challenge. It can be a challenge even for those of us who love reading. I always plan to read before bed time but somehow get so immersed in scrolling through Instagram and Twitter that i completely neglect the reading. This is definitely something i am actively working on. I also want to start reading more books that help expand my knowledge. Do not get me wrong, I love myself a good old thriller novel but i want to start investing in books that introduce me to new ideas and help inspire me. I recently picked up the book Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind after hearing Kalel on you-tube rave about it. I have only just started it but i am enjoying and would really recommend you all to check it out too!

  1. Learning about myself and stepping out of my comfort zone are definitely two things that I want to start doing. Personlly, I think they would walk hand in hand! I’ve always found that doing things that make me uncomfortable have lead to a personal discovry of some sort. These are absolutely wonderful goals and I hope that you achieve them! Thank you for inspiring my own as well.

  6. That’s a good set of goals. It’s important to have them and list them – you’ve never achieved everything so always strive for more. I need a new list! X

  7. These are all great goals! Especially the learn about yourself one because itโ€™s so easy to lose ourselves as we are living our lives and so much time goes by without realizing it and the journey to finding ourselves again can get hard. Anyway great post!

    1. Thanks a lot! Yes I definitely feel like once we really get to know ourselves, it will become so much easier for us to find work that we love and people that motivate and inspire us! xx

  8. I took the personality quiz the other day and got ISFJ-T – The Defender. I love to read, it’s something I’ve made a real effort to do this year and especially over the last few months since my break up it’s nice to get lost in a book and forget about my problems for a while x

    1. Thanks for sharing your results!
I totally agree that is one of my fav thing about reading- just getting so lost in to the book!
Also, I hope you are doing better now- canโ€™t imagine how hard breakups can be! ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—

      1. When the story is so good it makes you want to keep reading! Iโ€™m doing okay, some days I still struggle but I realise it wasnโ€™t my fault and I want to find someone who wouldnโ€™t let me go โค๏ธ

  9. This was a fabulous post. I did stop dead in my tracks when .you talked about your Myers-Brigg personality because I wrote about being an INFJ in my latest post. Nice to meet a kindred spirit!

  10. Get comfortable being uncomfortable! So important!!

A great way I started reading More self improvement books was 10 pages a day… always at the same time/ moment of the day (morning for me)

Once I got the habit I wanted to read more than this and easily read more than 30 development books a year (Iโ€™d recomment the slight edge as a great place to start… it explains this stuff much better than this!!)

    Thanks for sharing!!

    Mike

  11. These are really great goals! The best thing I ever did was train to be a beauty therapist after I left school itโ€™s now my full time job and would reccomend anyone who loves anything Beauty to give it a try! I also used to read so much and have stopped recently but I really want to get back to it! X

    1. Wow, that sounds amazing! So great that you went after your goal! I actually have no idea a beauty therapist does- Iโ€™m going to have to look in to that haha! xx

  12. This is such a good list of things and I hope you achieve them all! That first point is so important to learn about yourself and I’m definitely going to take that personality quiz so thanks for linking it. I hope you do pursue a career in beauty you’d be amazing at it, your makeup always looks stunning! I’d love to travel more too, I think if I could afford to and worked a job where I had most of the summer off I’d just go inter-railing so I could see loads of different places for like a month!

  14. I love this post – you’re sharing goals to keep you accountable. It is interesting that you’ve listed learn about yourself. Everyone changes over time and it gets to the point where we may not realize we’re totally different than ourselves from 5 years ago. Traveling is great – don’t feel super rushed because it’ll still be here for you within time (just don’t book during busy season unless you’re balling XD). It’s great that you want to leave your comfort zone. That is how you grow. Good luck with all of your goals!!

    1. Thanks a lot Nancy!
I totally agree, we are always changing but Iโ€™d like to believe that at the very core we are the same person!
And yes, definitely want to not stress about the traveling part! ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜

  15. Love these goals, and it definitely inspired me to reflect on my own personal goals and start working on them again! I think the most fulfilling one out of them all is to get to know yourself on a deeper level. Once you reach the stage where you can finally sit back and say you truly know and love yourself, it must be the most rewarding thing.. Thanks for sharing! xx

  16. Good look with these tasks, I think we all need to read more and get that habit as part of our daily life. I would love to go to beauty school, I think that would be such an awesome experience. If you go I hope you’ll share your progress with all of us. xx

  17. These really are an amazing goals! I hope youโ€™ll get to achieve them all ๐Ÿ™‚ good luck!

    lots of love, Jasmin

  18. I think itโ€™s so good that you want to learn about yourself more. Iโ€™ve spent sometime doing this recently and itโ€™s made me so much happier. Iโ€™ve found a hobby that I love and Iโ€™ve cut people out of my life that donโ€™t bring me happiness! Good luck with all of your goals ๐Ÿ’›

    1. Wow that is so amazing to hear! Do you have any techniques you used to really get to know yourself? I would love to hear them! xx

    1. Yes it really is unless Iโ€™m really hooked to the book, social media seems to really distract me! xx

  19. These are all fantastic goals! It makes total sense that you would want to addend beauty school, you are so talented with makeup. Reading more was a goal for me too, and I’m glad I’m following through with it! Great post!

  20. Would love to start leaving my comfort zone more, it’s insane to think we miss out on things because we don’t feel comfortable doing them. I think this comes hand in hand with finding yourself

  21. Really lovely blog! I recommend reading ‘Elenor Oliphant is completely fine’, I’m not normally the most attentive reader but the drip feed narrative is addictive! I also just did the personality test and I’m PROTAGONIST PERSONALITY (ENFJ, -A/-T), very accurate to me!

    1. Oh Iโ€™ve heard all about that book! Will definitely be picking it up, thanks!
Also, wow thatโ€™s so interesting! Isnโ€™t it so cool when you can relate to it! xx

  22. These are some important and really amazing goals Huda. I have a few goals that I want to work on. Travelling is so refreshing and a great way to get out of your comfort zone. I am so comfortable at home. I love reading but it is always the last thing. I am also distracted by IG and then very little time is left to read. Sapiens is a very interesting book, you will like it. Following your passion for beauty is great idea. I totally relate to ‘desi parents’. haha! All the best for you goals. ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. Huda those are lovely goals. I too want to travel more for the same reasons, independence and discover other lifestyles in the world. Like you said, a great start is heading over to the next town or city. I’m going make arrangements to that in a couple of weeks, to try out a pizza restaurant. I’ll be sure to credit you as inspo in my post ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m so excited for you and beauty school, you will excel there you are so knowledgeable about products too. I need to invest my time into books, I feel like reading rejuvenates the soul and creative zone in our brains.

  25. I love posts like these, they fill me with so much motivation. I’m also an INFJ-T which is nice, I feel like I was much more at peace with myself when I learned that. Good luck on your goals, I have no doubt you’ll smash them x

  26. I sincerely hope you succeed at each one of your goalsโ™ฅ๏ธ I can personally recommend traveling, which btw doesn’t have to be far. Any change of environment, even just for a day, can be beneficial for you & your personal growth. I personally learned a lot of life lessons that way by experience and by talking to people I would normally never talk to. The best of luck with your goals & your process of growth.

    Love,
