Setting new blogging goals for yourself on a regular basis is so important. Not only does it help grow your blog, but it also keeps you motivated and inspired. I was going through my last ‘Current Blogging Goals‘ blog post and was happy to see that I had achieved 4/5 of those goals! 4 months later, I have some new blogging goals I want to achieve. Writing down my goals like this, makes me feel more accountable for them. Hopefully, by sharing my goals, I can motivate you to come up with your own blogging goals as well!
INCREASE BLOG TRAFFIC THROUGH PINTEREST
The two social media I currently use to drive traffic to my blog are Instagram and Twitter. I tried using Pinterest a few times but gave up after I just could not seem to get into it. After hearing so many people say that they get a large amount of their blog traffic (more than half) from Pinterest, I knew I had to learn how to use it! Coincidently, I came across a tweet a few weeks ago from ELLEDUCLOS on twitter. She was doing a Pinterest e-course giveaway and I was so happy to have been picked. I am almost done with the e-course and it has been super helpful so far. She discusses everything from the basics of Pinterest to how to create the perfect pin and traffic strategies. If you guys want to purchase her e-course, you can do so from here. All in all, I am super excited to complete this goal. I know I am going to have to put in a lot of time and effort in to growing my Pinterest and driving traffic from it, but it will be worth it in the end!
In my last blogging goals post, I talked about how I wanted I learn about SEO. It is safe to say that in that time, I have learnt quite a lot about it. What I also learnt was how closely DA and SEO were related. DA (Domain Authority) is basically a ‘search engine ranking score’. The score ranges from 0-100. The higher your score, the higher you will rank on search engines such as Google. That means higher traffic and exposure for your blog. Brands are also more likely to work with bloggers who have a higher DA. You can easily check your site’s DA from here. In the last few months, after I started making my posts more SEO friendly and guest posting, my DA has gone up by 5 points. This is a lot considering how slowly DA tends to go up. It is definitely something you need to be patient with. I am still nowhere near how high I want it to be. I guess increasing your site’s DA is just a never-ending goal haha! If you do not know much about DA or how to increase it, then check out this super helpful post by Brooke Clarke.
BUY A PROFESSIONAL THEME
I am currently using a free WordPress theme which I actually really like. I do; however, feel that I want to buy a new theme that gives me more control and freedom over how my blog looks. I recently saw this beautiful theme on Etsy that I instantly fell in love with. The themes on Pipdig are pretty good too and I have seen that a lot of bloggers seem to go with it so i am still a bit confused. Revamping the look of my blog is definitely one of my goals though that will hopefully be happening soon!
This goes hand in hand with the ‘increasing my DA’ goal. I did not give much attention to guest posting until I realised how useful it can be in increasing the site’s DA. Sites with high-quality backlinks tend to rank higher on Google because it shows Google that this site is credible (if you want to have high-quality backlinks, guest post on sites with a high DA). Guest posting is also just a great way to expose your blog to a completely new audience. If you write a high-quality blog post for another site, then the audience of that site are more likely to visit your blog and subscribe to it. You can always find guest posting opportunities on Twitter. If you want to guest post on a specific site, then do not be afraid and go ahead and get in touch with them!
BECOME MORE ORGANIZED
Life has been quite hectic lately and my blogging schedule has been all over the place. It is always hard getting back into the flow of blogging after taking some time off. I am trying to get back into using my social media regularly and be more active on my blog. One of the things that helps me post consistently on my blog is having tons of blog post ideas already written down in my notes. That way, I do not have to spend ages coming up with an idea when it is time to actually write the post.
And those are 5 of my current blogging goals that I want to achieve! Never underestimate the power of writing down your goals. Plus, the feeling of ticking them off once you have accomplished them is just great!
Share your blogging goals with me down below! I am very curious to know what they are!
